Moving in Chelsea

Which parts of Chelsea do you cover?

The Chelsea core across SW3 and SW10 — Sloane Square and Sloane Street, the King’s Road, Cadogan and the garden squares, Cheyne Walk and the riverside, Chelsea Harbour and Chelsea Green — with the South Kensington and Belgravia edges alongside. We also run European moves departing from Chelsea.

How do you manage parking and access on narrow SW3 streets?

We plan the loading position and timing in advance and arrange a parking permit or a suspended bay where a larger vehicle needs one, working around the King’s Road and Sloane Square traffic and any red-route restrictions. It is agreed before the day so the move is not delayed.

Do you liaise with mansion-block porters and managing agents?

Yes, as a matter of course. Where a block requires a move to be booked, a service lift reserved or building rules followed, we handle that liaison in advance so the day runs to the building’s satisfaction as well as yours, and the communal areas are protected throughout.

Can you handle listed buildings and conservation areas?

We can. Many Chelsea houses are listed or sit within conservation areas, and we take the additional care that status requires — protecting original features, planning access carefully, and working in a way that leaves the property as we found it.

Are you the same as chelsea-removals.uk?

We are a related Chelsea service with a distinct focus. This site leads on prime-property moves — period townhouses, mansion blocks and the fine furniture within them — handled in a discreet, heritage register. If you have landed here for a prime Chelsea move, you are in the right place.

Service & care

The move, and how it is handled

How do you handle antiques, artwork and fine furniture?

With materials and methods suited to each piece. Delicate and valuable items are wrapped in appropriate protection and crated to measure where needed, and handled by crews trained to move fine furniture and insured to do so. A condition-checked inventory travels with your pieces throughout.

Do you move pianos?

Yes — uprights and grands, moved by an experienced team with the right equipment and planned specifically for the route, the protection and the lifting an awkward, heavy instrument requires. Where a staircase or lift demands a particular method, that is agreed at the survey.

Do you offer white-glove packing?

We do. Your home can be packed entirely by hand with proper materials and a labelled inventory, or we can pack only the fragile and valuable pieces while you handle the rest. At the new address we unpack and place everything to your instruction.

Do you survey every move before quoting?

For prime moves, almost always — in person or by video. Seeing both properties lets us plan the access, packing and crew accurately, so the written quote reflects the real move. It is also when we agree how any fine or fragile pieces will be handled.

Is there a charge for a survey or a quote?

No — surveys and quotes are provided without obligation. For a prime move we would rather see the properties than guess, so the quote is precise and the plan is right.

How do I arrange a quote?

Send the details through the enquiry form — the properties at each end, the access, and any pieces needing particular care. We will respond and, for most prime moves, arrange a survey in person or by video so the written quote reflects the move.

Storage & Europe

Storage, insurance & moving abroad

Do you offer secure storage in Chelsea?

Yes — clean, dry, secure and insured storage, handled as part of your move. It suits the gap between homes, a refurbishment, or pieces held between residences. Your belongings are collected, inventoried and returned by the same team, with fine pieces crated for storage where needed.

Is my stored property insured and inventoried?

Yes. Everything is listed on a full inventory as it goes into store and held under cover appropriate to prime-property contents. The inventory is matched back as your belongings come out, and access is arranged with discretion on reasonable notice.

How long can you store our belongings?

From a short period between completions to a longer spell during a refurbishment or an overseas move. We agree the arrangement in advance so there are no surprises, and you can extend or bring the return forward as your plans settle.

Which European countries do you move to from Chelsea?

We run considered routes from Chelsea to France, Spain, Italy and Portugal. Each has its own page with the route, the regions reached and how the customs paperwork is handled. Fine pieces are crated for the journey and handled with the same white-glove care.

Do you handle the customs paperwork for a move abroad?

Yes. Since Brexit an EU move requires a customs declaration and a detailed inventory, and used household effects can usually come in under transfer-of-residence relief when you are moving your main home. We prepare the declarations and transit documents and tell you exactly what to provide.

Do you also handle business and office moves?

We do, as a secondary service — discreet office, gallery, showroom and studio moves in the Chelsea and prime-KC area, planned around trading hours with IT and records handled. The residential prime work leads, but we are glad to assist with a commercial move nearby.

Is my move insured?

Yes. We carry cover appropriate to prime-property contents and fine furniture, and we explain it clearly before you commit — the scope, any conditions, and how valuable pieces are declared and handled. It is set out plainly, not buried in small print.
