A Chelsea home often contains pieces that cannot simply be blanket-wrapped and stacked in a van — an antique cabinet, a large gilt mirror, a collection of framed art, a grand piano, a chandelier. Fine-furniture, antique and artwork handling is the careful end of a prime move, and it is one of the things that most distinguishes a proper removal from an ordinary one. Our crews are trained to move these pieces, and we are insured to do so.
Wrapped, crated, protected
Each piece is treated as it needs to be. Delicate and valuable items are wrapped in appropriate protection and, where the value or fragility calls for it, crated to measure. Fine furniture is lifted and carried so no stress falls on joints, veneers or finishes. Everything is recorded on a condition-checked inventory before it moves, so its state is clear at both ends.
Art, mirrors and chandeliers
Framed art and mirrors take corner and face protection, and larger or more valuable pieces are crated. Chandeliers and decorative light fittings are taken down, protected and re-hung with care. These are the details that a general move overlooks and a prime move cannot — and they are handled here as standard.
Pianos, and pieces for travel
Pianos — uprights and grands — are moved by an experienced team with the right equipment, planned specifically for the route, the protection and the lifting a heavy, awkward instrument requires. And for a move abroad or a spell in storage, valuable and fragile pieces can be crated to measure for the extra protection a longer journey calls for. It all folds into the wider prime removal, handled by one team and one point of contact.

How do you move antiques and fine furniture?
With materials and methods suited to the piece, not a one-size approach. Delicate and valuable items are wrapped in appropriate protection and, where needed, crated to measure. Our crews are trained to lift, carry and secure fine furniture so it travels without stress on joints, veneers or finishes.
Can you handle artwork, mirrors and chandeliers?
Yes. Framed art and mirrors are protected with corner and face protection and, for valuable or large pieces, custom crates. Chandeliers and light fittings are taken down, protected and re-hung with care. Each is recorded on a condition-checked inventory before it moves.
Do you move pianos?
We do — uprights and grands, moved by an experienced team with the right equipment. Pianos are heavy, awkward and easily damaged, so they are planned for specifically: the route, the protection, the lifting and, where a staircase or lift demands it, the method for getting them safely in or out.
Are valuable pieces insured?
Yes. We carry cover appropriate to fine furniture, antiques and art, and we discuss high-value pieces with you in advance so they are properly declared and handled. The cover, and how it applies, is explained clearly before you commit.
Can you crate pieces for an international move or storage?
Yes. For a move abroad or a spell in storage, valuable and fragile pieces can be crated to measure for the extra protection a longer journey or a period in store calls for. It folds into the same arrangement as your move or storage.
